Russian ruble rubble returns--rubs Russians wrong

Incredible. Unexpected twists and turns are nothing new in the WWE universe, but there’s no way anyone could’ve seen THIS coming.

At the beginning of last night’s WWE Raw broadcast, ringside commentator Michael Cole shocked the thousands of wrestling fans in attendance with the announcement that there weren’t going to be any matches, as none of the wrestlers were mad enough at each other to fight.

“Everyone backstage is getting along pretty well right now, and we really don’t want to force anything,” Cole said. “We appreciate you all coming out tonight, but at this point, we’d like to ask everybody to go ahead and go home.”

The stadium lights then turned on, and ushers quietly dismissed the capacity crowd from their seats.

This was a HUGE surprise for everyone watching, as Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt had been building up to their big Ambulance Match for weeks, and with the recent reinstatement of The Authority, it seemed all but certain that Triple H would be looking to get revenge on Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler.

And what about Big Show? After being painfully crushed underneath a table by Roman Reigns just seven days earlier, you’d have to think he’d be pretty miffed, right?

“I’ll admit I was feeling a little steamed, but you reach a point where you realize that violence is only going to make things worse,” said Big Show. “Roman and I buried the hatchet, and now we’re realizing that we actually have a lot of things in common.”

“You know, considering we have so many shared interests, it’s a surprise that more wrestlers weren’t getting along until now,” he added.

As for the fans who bought tickets to the show, many were understandably disappointed. Some, however, were happy to know that their favorite WWE superstars were getting along, including one fan who said he’d been holding up a “USE YOUR WORDS” sign at WWE events for years.

But what do YOU think? Should the wrestlers get back to bringing the smackdown, or do you think it’s time to usher in a new era of peace in the WWE? Let us know in the comments!
